Daily Devotions
After I left work that night, I decided to go by Panera to grab dinner on my way home. As I was anxiously waiting in line for my broccoli cheddar soup, I began scrolling through some devotions that were sent to my phone each day. I landed on one entitled “Lord I Love You But…” and I begin to read. The Lord might as well have put my name at the top of the screen. It was that straightforward. Immediately my heart started pounding out of my chest.
We’re all waiting for something, because waiting never seems to be absent from our lives in one way or another. Even if we finally get to the end of a season of waiting for one thing, another waiting season never seems to be too far behind.
There’s a quote by A.W. Tozer that I really love, where he says, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” It’s a simple quote, but one that will really get you thinking…because maybe, you’ve never taken the time to really dive into what you think about God.

A few years ago, I was sitting in a seminary class where the professor was talking about the importance of having an honest relationship with God. He said, “God is big enough to handle your emotions. He’s big enough to handle your honesty. Let Him be who He longs to be in your life, and don’t be afraid to communicate with Him honestly about how you feel.”
